Received a pair of Truthear Hexa IEMs today. Normally I don't buy these things because my past experiences with similar products have always led to disappointment, but so far I'm actually enjoying these quite a bit.
The Fit
Problem #1 that I usually run into is that they normally don't fit my ears properly. Truthear provided a number of eartips with these and thankfully there was one pair that actually fit my ears. Even with foam earplugs, it often takes me a couple tries to place them in my ears properly, but surprisingly these fit properly on the first try.
The Sound
Problem #1 out of the way, we come to the more impressive part of this review: the sound quality. I've heard a lot of <$100 IEMs and many of them are either muddy or quite tinny. These however are quite nicely balanced, with a rolloff after 10,000 cycles. They are not quite as detailed as my over-ear Sony headphones at a similar price point (Sony MDR-V6, MDR-7506), but are quite enjoyable to listen to and sound fairly neutral.
I'm interested to see how well they hold up over time and how much their sound changes after they have some time to get broken in. So far, I'm quite impressed. _________________ If you like browsing without an ad blocker, you might also like getting rid of your virus scanner, and running around with your pants down. --SomeGuy, 2016 |
