While browsing some Windows Longhorn previews on Youtube I stumbled on this band called "After". The video for Deep Diving is absolutely a nostalgia trip if you ask me. 
The music itself is a bit more anachronistic - mostly because it combines elements from the later counterparts. E.g. Baroque has more of a pop-punk tone. Lichen on the other hand has a club-like slow dance feel to it.
All in all they are a bit all over the place but not so much that it may become annoying. They also have a coolio Y2K website

| So I get the style is what they're after but it disappoints me that their website uses HTTPS and is so jammed full of scripts that it doesn't actually work on a proper 00s machine. |

Yeah, maybe they could setup a "lite" version like CrossTalk did? It wouldn't take much resources either.
