Hi y'all, I have a bit of an interesting issue - I have a PS/ValuePoint 466DX2/Si and trying to use the serial ports oftentimes locks up Windows. I do not have any issues under DOS but, under Windows, the system will hard freeze if I a) try to talk to a serial port when nothing is connected or if the settings are misconfigured, or b) use any program other than the Terminal program (namely the NIST ACTS program and WinFax 4) that accesses the serial ports. I assume this is not intended behavior, but I'm at a loss for what could be wrong, as I have checked and see no resource conflicts (the only potential overlap would be COM1 and COM3, and COM2 and COM4, but my computer only has COM1 and COM2, so I don't believe that should be an issue.
Anyone have any advice? _________________ Your System ate a SPARC! Gah! |
