Python matters, but that doesn't make it good.
I know lots of languages, but my favorite is Microsoft Batch. I guess it's more of a scripting language, since it's interpreted and primarily used for automation, but so is Python, so bite me.
Lots of cool stuff to be done, simplest development environment possible, and it's very satisfying to work on. A great challenge language, I highly recommend it. |

Ohh yeah. I've written plenty of batch and powershell scripts that were more than just menu calling systems.

I've never touched anything PowerShell, just Batch, but I've really enjoyed the couple projects I did there. Made a nice scrolling color 2D tilemapped game engine, wrote an emulator for a custom CPU, had a chat engine at one point in time. |
