It's been quite some time since I played this, and given it's quite late in the day in Scotland, I decided against sitting up all night and playing this until the morning. I might be off work for the foreseeable thanks to a substantial leg injury that took place last month, but even then I'm still not one for a late night.

Anyway, as always I've digressed. Back to GT2. I was brought up on the original Xbox and the 360, playing Project Gotham Racing 2, and the various iterations of Forza Motorsport that were launched. My all-time favourite is FM2. However, with that Gran Turismo as a franchise had always passed me by, despite the car selection being much more to my tastes. I'm not into fast cars, I like the stupid and the almost mundane. I'd much rather look at a Volvo 850 than a Ferrari F50.

A while ago I was given a 14" CRT television by a now ex-girlfriend... handy, to go with the other 14" CRT television I already own. Instead, I swapped it for a PlayStation One (the slim one) that my best friend had. I've got an ancient Samsung LCD anyway, so what does it matter. With the PS1 came Gran Turismo 2. I've been getting stuck into arcade mode so I can get a feeling for the controls at least, I've got the DualShock gamepads for the PS1, which helps. This week I aim to try and get into the arcade mode somewhat. Perhaps I'll spend some more time listening to the Rollo remix of My Favourite Game by The Cardigans too, it's spectacular.

I snapped some pics of the game running earlier on, picking one of the cars I've always wanted to own in real life, the Citroen Xsara. Laughing

I've had a few bizarre (and/or dull) cars in my time, so a Xsara is definitely a goal.

After running a race with the Xsara I did only place in 3rd, but to be fair even in the flesh an MG F will be stiff competition, same for the Peugeot 206 GTI. Both weigh a wad less. Smile

P.S. I think those images may need to be opened in a new tab but they're definitely on my web hosting now.
