That website preview looks awesome!
I have 4 four Mavicas myself, the FD5, FD75 (which unfortunately has bad vinegar syndrome on the screen), FD87, and the FD93. I'd be happy to help provide sample photos, photos of the cameras themselves, and other things as needed for those models. I've taken the most photos with the FD87, because that was the original one I've had since at least 2009. _________________ If you like browsing without an ad blocker, you might also like getting rid of your virus scanner, and running around with your pants down. --SomeGuy, 2016 |

Thanks for the lovely replies folks! I'm super excited about actually getting the site live.
europa - It's a Blue and White Yosemite 300. Chimes but no video. Some of the internal diagnostic lights won't work either. I'll save it for another thread if it doesn't sell soon - I'm sick of the sight of it...
nick99nack - I'd be very pleased with sample photos from the FD5, FD87, and the last one too - did you mean FD92?
If you could take photos of the Mavicas with maybe the FD75 that'd be super cool, or at least something similarly crunchy...
I should be okay for photos of the FD75, but if not I'll let you know.
Thanks again! _________________ That sounds irresponsibly silly and is therefore, clearly, something I am likely to almost always do. |

Ah honestly fair - Hope you figure out what's wrong with it, or get good money selling it to someone who can. Offhand, makes me wonder if it's a PSU failure. I look forward to that thread. _________________ Your System ate a SPARC! Gah! |

Funnily enough, I sold it tonight to an Apple enthusiast. Hopefully in good hands now! Means I can focus on my iMac G3 and the other hardware clutter... _________________ That sounds irresponsibly silly and is therefore, clearly, something I am likely to almost always do. |

Oh and just a BTW, you're free to use my pictures here as examples on your site of the FD75's photography, just please link back to my site for attribution if you do so _________________ Your System ate a SPARC! Gah! |

In other news, my FD71 arrived today. It was untested but thankfully worked. It now has been used to get photographs of the FD81, and vice versa. I'm beginning to piece that side of things together.
Speaking to someone I know who has an FD7 and an FD200, so hopefully we should have those models covered soon. _________________ That sounds irresponsibly silly and is therefore, clearly, something I am likely to almost always do. |

Thanks for the support folks. It's been a really fun project so far, and one that I reckon will need to be maintained even when live. I have an FD75 accessories brochure that I need to tackle with my scanner - a lot of the stuff is applicable for the other models too - things like lens filters, etc.
This isn't my first foray into all this web development stuff - I run two other sites. One for personal shenanigans and one for other people's sites, and a forum as a proof of concept beyond anything else. This one is different though, it's a lot more in-depth with information and the use case is different. Exciting, though. Plus, we can never have too many sites compatible with computers made on the correct side of 2000 (even if I personally wasn't). _________________ That sounds irresponsibly silly and is therefore, clearly, something I am likely to almost always do. |

Well, we're live!
http://mavicaworld.com/
Still some kinks to iron out, photographs to acquire, etc. Overall though, we're getting there now. Hosted thanks to my friend as well, for which I'm grateful. _________________ That sounds irresponsibly silly and is therefore, clearly, something I am likely to almost always do. |

Thank you so much!! I'm so pleased with it. Just photos, etc. to get yet, and scan up my FD75 accessories booklet.
That FD5 I was bidding on previously (and didn't win) is back up, so I've whacked another bid on it. _________________ That sounds irresponsibly silly and is therefore, clearly, something I am likely to almost always do. |

New website header up, as I felt like a little bit of a change for it. I've also since learned there's another Mavica site up (here) - so hopefully I'm not stepping on any toes with mine. I wouldn't like to feel that I'm encroaching. Although the Internet is full of many things including cross-referenced and repeated information from differing sites - so I won't lose any sleep over it hopefully. There's more of a social aspect on the other site as well, and it's actually very neatly laid out.
