|

I am, if nothing else, an avid music listener. Anything goes really, rock, pop, dance (including trance and some of the more hardcore stuff), but also things like country and so on.
What fascinates me though is finding new music, stuff to add to my iTunes (and inevitably my iPod) - I've got Spotify but I'm trying to move away from streaming again, having had my iPod for numerous years, it's time for it to come back again. With the start of this year, I tasked myself to listen to an album fully throughout a week, whether that's one that is new to me, or one that I've not heard for some time. I try and do something of a writeup on my website, but it's never that in-depth, really.
http://www.madinterwebs.co.uk/52albums/list.htm
Recently, I've been listening to a lot of 90s Indie music lately, especially Kula Shaker's 1996 album K. Although, this morning I've decided to play Fumbling Towards Ecstasy (1993) by Sarah McLachlan.
So, the floor is yours folks, what sort of music has been your current mood? Or even just a guilty pleasure? _________________ - Ryan

[NERD RAMBLING AHEAD]
hell yeah ipod users unite!! i have a 4th gen nano that i got 3 years ago and she's still goin strong!! (though the 8gb is a bit of a limitation lol)
i absolutely love the challenge you've given yourself, tbh i'd love to do the same at some point! i'd like to say that infinity on high is my absolute FAVORITE fob album so it made me happy to see you listened to it! :]
as for music i've been listening to lately, i've been all over the place @_@ to name a few favorites though, i'd have to say senses fail, dave matthews band, and fall out boy.
senses fail is a 2000s post-hardcore/pop punk-ish band and i've listened to their first three albums so far. their second album 'still searching' is arguably my favorite for its songs about struggling with faith (...and really just life in general)
i'd hope you all know dave matthews band! my parents basically raised me on them, i remember they used to go to a show every damn year! some of my favorites from them are 'spoon', 'pay for what you get', and '#41'. dmb has and will always be close to my heart because of how much my parents loved them :] (well. i should add that i've gotten my father back into them, but my mother is over it lol)
and well i simply just love fob. i saw them in 2024 with my friend and i fell in love with them from there on out.
but i also listen to a LOT more music including more post-hardcore, alt rock, nu-metal, and really almost anything 80s-2010s! you can check out my last.fm at https://last.fm/user/leefymoon to see all of the wonderful music i love.
ok sorry for all the rambles i have a case of the yaps today... :3 _________________ your favorite exploder

Thanks for your reply!
I've got a 4th gen iPod (Classic) and a 5th gen Video. I've owned the latter for a looooooong time.
I'm gonna give those artists you mentioned a listen. I've listened to a wee bit of Dave Matthews Band already, so anything else is a bonus! _________________ - Ryan

I'm not a big music person but my coworkers demand music when they're in the office, so I've heard all kinds of stuff. Usually I will listen to music on long drives, if the option is available.
It's split between 80s hair band music, 90s dance music, and Mittsies. |

i've been meaning to put up a thing on my website for albums i like and whatnot, just haven't gotten around to it. i used to have an album reviews site somewhere but that hasn't been updated in ages and i'm not the greatest writer so i feel like that stuff i wrote kinda just sucks. maybe this'll inspire me to do it though
anyway, literally right now i'm listening to the Hang Glider music from Pilotwings 64 (YouTube link incl. playlist). i don't really usually listen to video game music outside of the games, this song just gets stuck in my head though. i will say though, Dan Hess did cook with that soundtrack.
recently i listened to We Have The Techology by Custard and The Big Heat by Stan Ridgway for the first time, both good albums although quite different to each other lol _________________ - parasquared

I've been playing Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed these last few days and I absolutely adore the soundtrack. I've had it on repeat ever since I've started my playthrough. It's a shame that Saki Kaskas, one of the composers for the game, has passed away, he was a really cool guy. _________________

I quite liked this game (although DICE's Volvo S40 Racing is my nerdy go-to...), and I think the standout track from the soundtrack for me has to be R U Ready? by Rom Di Prisco (who goes/went by Morphadron).
In terms of music, I've recently been listening to the album Intensify by Way Out West. It's good stuff for the ears if you enjoy electronic music! _________________ - Ryan

I found a dungeon synth channel on youtube that I added to the music I listed to at work...when I can. Alongside megaman music and halloween themed music.
Tonight i'm going to a Elvis Presley tribute so...add that to the mix _________________ How long until work is done?

I've been listening through my entire iTunes library and trying to get everything rated, primarily for my own enrichment but also because I have an iPod Shuffle in my car that I can autofill with music from a smart playlist that is populated with music that meets certain criteria.
On the topic of the iPod Shuffle in particular, I went out driving today and had a nice selection of Goo Goo Dolls, Counting Crows, Pearl Jam, and Pop Will Eat Itself playing from the iPod, which is exposed as a standard USB drive through the use of disk mode. _________________ Your System ate a SPARC! Amazing, can't beat an iPod! My cousin used to have a shuffle back when we were younger. It was mainly Paramore and You Me At Six on Zoe's one mind you. _________________ - Ryan

Epic! Paramore is somewhere in my iTunes library, I just need to get enough of their songs rated that they have a reasonable probability of showing up on my Shuffle's autofill list. _________________ Your System ate a SPARC! Gah! |
